TIPPI DIFFERENCE

This is going to be a quick post. I noticed something by complete accident. Back in November, I purchased the Tippi in Marled Camel at full price (79.50+tax). The week before Christmas I noticed that J.Crew was offering the same Tippi online for 29.99 with 40% off and free shipping. I'm pinching pennies, so I returned the store purchase for the online purchase. Since I'm neurotic, I decided to try on both to see which one fit better before I returned one (its the same damn sweater). To my surprise, the store bought Tippi was a heavier merino wool and the online Tippi was very lightweight and more forgiving. How could this be ? Its the same sweater. I wish I would have taken pictures. By the way, I also purchased the Tippi in the Heather Grey, took it to the store and the store version was noticeably heavier again. Has anyone noticed this ?

  1. I haven't noticed quality difference but i have noticed size difference in cothiing. I bought an Xs shirt during the holiday sale.. scored it for 14.97 so i informed my friend about the shirt and she wanted me to pick one up for her too.. I went to the store bright and early to pick up another Xs. Bought it, got home and looked at them side by side and one clearly looked smaller than the other. I tried them both on and there was at least 1 size difference... i have noticed this in other items as well.. Almost like the quality inspection is not on top of it's game...i don't think it was miss-tagged bc i have had this happen multiple times...

    1. This may be true. That's why I take two sizes of the same item into the fitting room, because there is always one that fits better. I'm not quite sure to what to say about the fabric difference between online and store items. Thank you Careyanne for chiming in. Hopefully you'll like the blog enought to follow.
